The Kingdom welcomes the US announcement of starting procedures to repeal the law designating Syria as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome of the United States of America's announcement of initiating procedures to repeal the law classifying the Syrian Arab Republic as a state sponsor of terrorism, which was enacted in 1979.

The Kingdom reiterates its support for all positive steps taken by the Syrian government to achieve its security and stability, contribute to building state institutions, and fulfill the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people for a more stable and prosperous Syria.
