Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned his American counterpart Marco Rubio during a meeting held between them in Manila on Thursday against continued arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Lavrov described the continued supply of weapons to Ukraine as 'unacceptable,' according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Russian Foreign Ministry statement indicated that Lavrov denounced 'the destabilizing policy pursued by European countries that insist on seeking a strategic defeat of Russia.'

The Russian Foreign Ministry added: 'Lavrov reaffirmed Russia's readiness for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict, and its commitment to the proposals put forward by the American side during the meeting of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage, which the Russian president approved,' according to the RT website.

It confirmed that regional and international issues were discussed, including the situation in the Gulf.

Lavrov and Rubio welcomed the continuation of full communications between the Russian space agency Roscosmos and NASA, and expressed support for developing parliamentary exchanges and cultural relations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry concluded: 'Focus was also placed on normalizing the working conditions of Russian and American diplomatic missions. An agreement was reached to continue communication between the two foreign ministries, including through the participation of both countries in international organizations.'
