What did Trump write in a letter to al-Sharaa about removing Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism?
(CNN)—Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani posted a photo with interim Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, holding a letter addressed to the latter from US President Donald Trump.
The photo was posted by al-Shaibani on his page on platform X (formerly Twitter), while the official Syrian Arab News Agency published a photo of the letter, in which Trump addressed al-Sharaa saying: "Today, I informed Congress of my decision to revoke Syria's designation as a state sponsor of terrorism..."

Trump continued: "Under the law, Congress will conduct a 45-day review to finalize the decision and make it permanent.. I pledged to remove all barriers that hinder you from rebuilding your country, and very soon, you will be able to do so. We have American companies ready to invest in Syria and help make your country greater and more prosperous than ever before.."
Trump concluded his letter to al-Sharaa by saying: "I look forward to the positive impact of this (decision) on the Syrian people and deepening relations between our two countries."
