Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan held talks on regional developments and ways to achieve regional security and stability.

This came during a phone call made by Faisal bin Farhan to Fidan, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) late Monday.

The agency reported that the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments and their implications for the region's security.

They emphasized the importance of coordination, consultation, and supporting diplomatic efforts to reach peaceful and comprehensive solutions that lead to regional security and stability.

Faisal bin Farhan also made two phone calls on Monday with his Egyptian and Bahraini counterparts, Badr Abdel Ati and Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, respectively, during which they discussed the same topics, according to the agency.

These contacts come as Israel continues its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip and its aggression against Lebanon, but the most prominent issue currently is the renewed military confrontation between the United States and Iran.

For more than a week, Tehran has been launching attacks on what it says are U.S. military installations and equipment in Arab countries, particularly Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, in response to the daily American bombardment that Iran is subjected to.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on July 8 the end of the ceasefire stipulated in the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran on June 18.

Trump's announcement came after Iran targeted three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran insists on imposing a mechanism to regulate vessel passage through the vital waterway, while Washington demands guaranteed freedom and security of navigation in the strait.

The escalation has disrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and threatened air traffic and energy supplies, amid intermittent closures of airspace and warnings of attacks on U.S. facilities and interests outside the Middle East.
