Official: Palm Beach Airport in Florida renamed to President Donald Trump International Airport

Palm Beach International Airport in Florida was renamed on Thursday after President Donald Trump, the latest move reflecting his desire to leave his mark on the public sphere.

Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis approved the naming of the airport after the U.S. president in late March, whose private residence Mar-a-Lago is located about three kilometers away.

To celebrate the occasion, the president's son Eric Trump arrived at the airport shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday on the family's private plane, nicknamed 'Trump Force One' after the presidential aircraft. He shared a video from the cockpit on social media as it landed.

Eric said in a statement to Fox News: 'I don't think anyone embodies Palm Beach better than Donald Trump.'

From the White House architecture to banknotes, passing through buildings and prominent landmarks in the U.S. capital, Trump tirelessly seeks to leave his mark.

But his name was removed from the Kennedy Center's main hall in Washington by a court decision recently, after it had appeared alongside the name of former President John F. Kennedy for a time.
