US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the launch of a program to detect testosterone deficiency (known as the male hormone) among service members, asserting that the program will ensure soldiers have "the necessary biological foundation to continue fighting."

Hegseth said: "We have a sacred duty to maintain this advantage, and therefore we must constantly search for new ways to improve your performance, endurance, and long-term health."

He added: "Under the supervision of an elite cadre of our world-class physicians, fighters aged 30 and above will undergo an annual screening as part of their periodic health assessment, which is conducted annually, and we have added this test to it. Those under 30 can also voluntarily opt to undergo the test. If treatment is recommended, you are fully free to choose to receive testosterone replacement therapy."
