Doha, March 11 (QNA) - His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from Her Excellency Ms. Yvette Cooper, Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom.
During the call, they reviewed developments of military escalation in the region and its serious repercussions on regional and international security and stability, and ways to resolve all disputes through peaceful means.
During the call, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Qatari territory and that they cannot be accepted under any justification or pretext, noting in this context that the State of Qatar has always sought to distance itself from regional conflicts and worked to facilitate dialogue between the Iranian side and the international community.
His Excellency warned against the consequences of irresponsible targeting of vital infrastructure, especially those related to water, food, and energy facilities, stressing that they represent dangerous precedents that will expose the peoples of the region to multiple risks. He also emphasized the need for an immediate halt to any escalatory actions, a return to the dialogue table, prioritizing reason and wisdom, and working to contain the crisis in a manner that preserves the security of the region.
For her part, Her Excellency the British Foreign Secretary called for de-escalation, heeding the voice of reason, and returning to negotiations and diplomatic means to avoid further chaos.
