Qalibaf: Iran will respond if Washington violates agreement
Iranian parliament speaker stressed that ending the war is a priority for all countries, but it will never end with Iran's surrender

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned on Friday that Iran would respond if the United States violated the agreement made with Tehran.
He affirmed that Iran will not abandon defending itself and will not succumb to any pressure.
This came in a statement by Qalibaf during his reception of Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (Parliament) Speaker Ahmad Muzani in the capital Tehran, according to Iranian state TV.
Qalibaf said that negotiations with the United States must be conducted from a position of readiness for war.
He added that the United States, Israel, and NATO believed during the recent war that they could force Iran to surrender within days, but events proved otherwise.
Qalibaf stressed that the war will not end with Iran's surrender, and the world has realized this fact, saying that Iran does not trust the United States.
He pointed out that he had informed US Vice President James David Vance of this position during the negotiations.
He affirmed that Iran will not abandon defending its territory and will stand firm against the United States if it violates its commitments.
Qalibaf stressed that ending the war is a priority for all countries.
He added: 'But everyone must know that this war will never end with Iran's surrender.'
For his part, Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Speaker Ahmad Muzani welcomed efforts to end the war between Iran and the United States.
Muzani expressed his belief that Qalibaf's efforts could contribute to achieving peace.
The two sides also stressed the need to develop bilateral relations between Iran and Indonesia in various fields, especially the economic sector.
Recently, the United States launched military attacks on Iran in response to its targeting of ships in the strategic Strait of Hormuz for global energy supplies.
On Thursday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced strikes targeting about 90 Iranian military sites, including air defense systems, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and logistical infrastructure on the Iranian coast.
In response, Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced targeting US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, warning of expanding its attacks if US strikes continue.
The Gulf region has been witnessing rising tensions since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran on February 28.
Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran on June 18, negotiations continue between them mediated by Qatar and Pakistan to reach a final agreement.
