The State of Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of the Saudi tanker 'Wadian' while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, considering it a serious violation of international navigation safety and a threat to the security of global energy supplies. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its call on Iran to stop these practices, comply with international law and Security Council Resolution 2817, and prevent the recurrence of attacks.
The State of Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of the Saudi oil tanker 'Wadian' while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, considering it a serious violation of international navigation safety, a direct threat to the security of global energy supplies, and a clear breach of international law.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement issued on Tuesday, affirmed that the continuation of these attacks represents a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, undermines efforts to establish regional stability, and erodes the gains achieved in the wake of the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly regarding de-escalation and enhancing navigation security in the region.
The Ministry renewed Qatar's demand that Iran immediately cease any practices affecting the security of the region, stop endangering the safety of international navigation and global energy supplies, fully comply with the provisions of international law and Security Council Resolution 2817, and take urgent measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.
