Qatar welcomed the ban by the Netherlands and Belgium on importing products from Israeli settlements, describing it as an important step that supports efforts to deter the occupation's settlement policies, which it considers a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions, especially UN Security Council Resolution 2334, and a blatant assault on the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that Qatar hopes more countries will take similar steps in this regard, and stressed the need for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to compel Israel to halt its settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The ministry reiterated Qatar's firm and permanent position in support of the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
