Reports: Israel Warns Washington of Iranian Plot to Assassinate Trump
US media reported that Israel shared intelligence with the United States this week regarding a "new and specific" Iranian plot to assassinate US President Donald Trump, a development coinciding with the escalating military confrontation between Washington and Tehran.
CNN quoted informed sources as saying that the United States had been monitoring a "steady flow" of intelligence on potential plots targeting Trump, but the latest Israeli warning contained new information about a specific plot.
The Wall Street Journal also reported, citing unnamed sources, that the Israeli intelligence dealt with a "new" plot to target the US president.

Trump had told reporters aboard the presidential plane while returning from the NATO summit in Turkey that the Iranians "want to eliminate the American leader," adding that he had seen information indicating his name was on targeting lists.
The reports coincided with speculation about exceptional security measures accompanying Trump's trip from Turkey, after he left on an older presidential plane, before transferring in Britain to the new presidential plane to complete his journey to Washington.
The New York Times reported that the plane swap was carried out at the request of the US Secret Service "as a security precaution," amid questions about the step's connection to potential threats against the US president.
