Russian Foreign Ministry Confirms Continued Dialogue with United States at Various Levels

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the continuation of dialogue with the United States on a daily basis and at various levels, noting the continuation of political and technical contacts between the two sides.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is in contact with his American counterpart through written and verbal channels, stressing that dialogue at the working level continues daily.

Ryabkov added that the conflict in Ukraine could see progress toward a settlement if the United States moves based on what he described as Russia's agreement to the American proposals put forward during the Alaska summit.

He declined to comment on US President Donald Trump's statements about an impending settlement to the conflict in Ukraine, merely saying that this could be possible if Washington bases its actions on the proposals that were agreed upon during the talks.

The Russian deputy foreign minister affirmed that Moscow does not intend to reduce its contacts with the United States on the Ukrainian issue, stressing that communication channels will remain open under all circumstances.
