Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that Moscow rejects the deployment of a multinational force by Kyiv's allies in Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement.

She added that Russia would regard such a force as a direct threat and a legitimate military target for it, according to Reuters.

Zakharova's comments came after Western member states of the 'coalition of the willing' supporting Ukraine reaffirmed this week their commitment to deploying such a force after a ceasefire.
