After disappearing since July 4, a missing dog returned to its family following a rescue operation carried out by Menlo Park fire crews in San Francisco Bay.

Authorities were alerted to its presence in marsh waters two weeks after it went missing, and crews used a drone to locate it and bring it safely back to shore.

After being handed over to an animal welfare society, the society was able to find its owners and reunite it with its family in a happy ending to the story.
