An Airbus A320neo aircraft belonging to the Egyptian airline Air Cairo was damaged after passing through a severe hailstorm while approaching Stuttgart Airport in Germany, leading to its temporary removal from service for necessary inspections and maintenance.

The aircraft, registered as SU-VBN, encountered the storm during the landing phase before landing safely with no injuries reported among passengers or crew.

The aircraft is one of the newest in Air Cairo's fleet, having been delivered new from Airbus in August 2024 as part of the airline's plan to modernize the fleet and enhance operational efficiency.

The aircraft is currently undergoing detailed technical inspections to assess the extent of the damage before a decision is made to return it to service after completion of repairs and approval from the relevant authorities.
