Third International Conference on Legal and Sharia Studies Launches with International Participation

With an international presence, the third international conference on legal and sharia studies: systems and modern trends, kicked off this morning, Saturday, July 4, 2026, with the participation of researchers and specialists representing more than seven Arab and Islamic countries.
The first day of the conference witnessed four scientific sessions covering a wide range of topics related to legal and sharia studies. The conference proceedings began with the first scientific session titled 'Legislation and Judicial Systems Between Theory and Judicial Practice,' chaired by renowned lawyer Khaled bin Sami Abu Rashid. The second scientific session was titled 'Governance and Responsibility in Saudi Systems: Contemporary Visions and Applications,' chaired by Dr. Rawan Atiyat Allah Al-Sahafi, Assistant Professor in the Law Department at the University of Hafr Al-Batin.
The third scientific session was dedicated to poster presentations, where researchers presented fifteen scientific posters covering a number of specialized issues and topics in law, sharia, and judiciary. Members of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law presented the fourth scientific session titled 'Violations of International Humanitarian Law and Criminal Responsibility,' chaired by Dr. Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Saab, with the participation of Brigadier General Dr. Dhaifallah Al-Mutairi, Dr. Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Sisi, and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Awad Al-Qarni. The first day concluded with a training workshop titled 'Intellectual Property in Sharia and Law,' presented by Dr. Ruba Al-Maabi, with notable attendance and interaction from participants. The conference is scheduled to continue tomorrow, Sunday, with further scientific sessions, and will conclude with the announcement of its scientific recommendations, God willing.
