US President Donald Trump confirmed that he has ordered the military to prepare for strikes against Iran in the event the Tehran government assassinates or attempts to assassinate him.

Trump stated in a post on Truth Social that "a thousand missiles are ready to launch towards Iran, with thousands more to follow immediately" if any threat to target him is carried out.

Trump added that orders have already been issued, and that the US military is fully prepared and capable for a renewable year to completely destroy all areas of Iran if necessary, in a statement reflecting the escalating rhetoric between the two sides.
