Trump to Aoun: We will help Lebanon a lot
US President Donald Trump received Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House on Tuesday, where the two sides discussed bilateral relations and the situation in Lebanon and the region.
During the meeting, Trump affirmed that the relations between the United States and Lebanon are "good," stressing that Washington will continue to support Beirut.
The US president said: "We will help Lebanon solve problems," adding: "We will help Lebanon a lot and will treat it properly and with full respect."
Trump noted that Lebanon "has been damaged for decades," confirming continued US support to help it overcome challenges.

The US president revealed that his country will hold talks regarding the Lebanese army taking control of villages from which Hezbollah withdraws, and will also discuss issues related to the experimental phase of the safe zone project in Lebanon.
Regarding regional developments, Trump said he will "take care of the Houthis" if they impose a blockade on Saudi ports.
For his part, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun thanked his US counterpart for what he described as a "historic achievement" represented by the signing of the framework, asserting that "Lebanon's return to stability and security is a matter of time."
