US President Donald Trump announced Monday the reimposition of the blockade on Iran, stressing that the Strait of Hormuz is open. Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social: 'The Strait of Hormuz is open and will remain open, with or without Iran's consent.'

He added: 'We are reimposing the Iranian blockade, so named because it targets only Iranian ships or ships belonging to their clients, and prevents them from entering or leaving the strait.' Trump exempted all other countries from not entering the Strait of Hormuz, saying: 'As for all other countries, they will enjoy the right to use the strait freely and fairly.'

Trump revealed the name of the operations his country is leading in the Strait of Hormuz, saying: 'From now on, the United States will be known as the "Guardian of the Strait of Hormuz," but in the interest of fairness, it will charge a compensation of 20% of the value of all shipments transferred, to cover all necessary costs for performing the mission of providing safety and security in this highly volatile part of the world,' noting that it will immediately begin implementation procedures and form the necessary mechanism.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump suggested the death of Mojtaba Khamenei, saying: 'I am 90% sure that Mojtaba Khamenei was killed.'

He indicated that Iran has no chance to rebuild its military capabilities, explaining that his country will immediately begin measures to protect the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, Trump said the United States had an agreement with Iran and they breached it, and we will be the guardians of the strait, adding: 'We will charge fees for guarding the strait.' Trump affirmed US control over the strait. Meanwhile, the German Foreign Ministry condemned Iran's attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz and on countries in the region, affirming its continued support for the rapid and full resumption of international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. It stressed the need to return to a ceasefire and resume negotiations.

In contrast, the Joint Supreme Military Command of Iran said Tehran will not allow America to interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz, adding: 'We will strongly confront any attempt by America to facilitate passage through the strait without Iranian permission.'
