Turkish Ambassador to Damascus Congratulates Syrian People on Parliament Opening

Turkish Ambassador to Damascus Nuh Yilmaz congratulated the Syrian people on the opening of the People's Assembly (parliament) and holding its first session.
This came in a post on the American platform 'X' on Sunday.
Yilmaz added: 'Syria waited for decades to regain the sovereignty of the people, offered hundreds of thousands of lives, and hundreds of thousands spent their lives in prisons. Syria deserved this.'
He continued: 'Our slogan is clear: The voice of the people is the voice of truth. Congratulations to you.'
Earlier on Sunday, the first session of the new People's Assembly began in the Syrian capital Damascus, a week after its postponement.
The session started with the presence of President Ahmad al-Sharaa and a number of ministers and officials.
