US Army reveals identity of two soldiers killed in Iranian strikes on Jordan
(CNN)-- The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced Monday the identity of two US soldiers killed in Iranian strikes targeting Jordan.
The department said First Lieutenant Tyler James Vihan (25) and Private Isabella Gonzalez (19) were killed in the attack that targeted, on Friday, the Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base in Jordan.
It added that Gonzalez, from Carrollton, Texas, died on Friday, while Vihan, from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, died on Saturday.
These are the first human losses among US forces resulting from Iranian strikes since March.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on Saturday that four other US soldiers were evacuated to hospitals in Jordan for treatment, before later leaving, while others suffered minor injuries and returned to duty.
