The death toll from the two devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 rose to 4,490, more than two weeks after the disaster, as authorities continue search and rescue operations in the affected areas.

President of the Venezuelan National Assembly Jorge Rodríguez announced that the death toll rose from 4,333 to 4,490, noting that 108 shelters have been set up housing more than 19,000 people who lost their homes.
