The department's clarification came in response to a query from a beneficiary on the X platform regarding the possibility of driving a private car using a light transport license, and whether it requires obtaining a private driving license, explaining that the license type must match the type of vehicle to be driven.

This is part of the General Traffic Department's efforts to raise awareness of traffic regulations and instructions, as it had previously confirmed that driving a vehicle without obtaining a driver's license, or during a license suspension period, is a traffic violation subject to a fine ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 Saudi riyals.
