1,500 Licenses Issued and Renewed Daily
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing continues to develop the municipal licensing system by expanding digital services through the 'Balady' platform, with the aim of facilitating the issuance and renewal of commercial licenses, and providing a smoother and clearer journey for businesses and entrepreneurs, thereby enhancing the continuity of commercial activities and raising the efficiency of private sector operations. Growing demand The official spokesman of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, Mohammed Al-Rasasima, explained that the platform enables investors and business owners to complete licensing services electronically, contributing to speeding up procedures and improving the beneficiary experience, in line with the ministry's efforts in digital transformation and business environment development. The 'Balady' platform witnessed the issuance and renewal of 274,000 commercial licenses during the past six months at a rate of 1,505 licenses per day, including more than 97,000 new licenses, along with 177,000 renewed licenses, an indicator reflecting the growing demand for digital services and the continuity of commercial activity in various regions of the Kingdom. Flexible procedures The platform also provided more than 173,000 services during the same period, including 91,000 services for modifying commercial licenses, more than 43,000 services for adding a commercial activity, and 39,000 services for transferring ownership of commercial licenses, which enhances procedural flexibility and meets investors' needs. These efforts come within the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing's endeavors to develop the municipal licensing system, raise the efficiency of digital government services, and improve the investment environment, thereby supporting the growth of the private sector.
