"Al-Alimi" Resumes Yemeni Oil Exports and Calls for Unity Around the State and End to Houthi Coup
Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Dr. Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi called on all components of the Yemeni people to rally behind the state project and support the armed forces and security agencies to restore state institutions and end the Houthi group's coup, stressing that the time has come to end the suffering of Yemenis.
Al-Alimi, in a statement to the people, announced the resumption of oil exports starting today, noting that the revenues will be directed to serve citizens across the country, foremost of which is meeting the state's basic obligations, paying salaries, improving services, and enhancing economic stability.
He affirmed that the government has never stopped seeking peace and alleviating citizens' suffering, but has faced continuous rejection from the Houthi group of humanitarian initiatives, accusing it of exploiting Yemenis' suffering to serve its project and dragging the country into regional conflicts.
He added that the past years have proven that the Yemeni crisis is a direct result of the Houthi coup, accusing the group of harnessing citizens' suffering to serve the agenda of the Iranian regime and targeting the national economy and vital oil facilities.
The Yemeni president renewed his call to the people of the governorates under Houthi control to rally around the state and republic project as the guarantor of security, stability and Yemen's future, expressing confidence in the ability of Yemenis to restore their state and close the page on the coup.
