Saudi Arabia and Canada Sign Several Bilateral Memoranda of Understanding in Energy and Artificial Intelligence

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the Royal Court at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah today, where an official reception ceremony was held for him, then they held an official talks session. According to SPA, during the session they reviewed aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, areas of cooperation, and opportunities for their development in various sectors, in addition to reviewing developments in regional and international events and efforts made regarding them. The Crown Prince and the Canadian Prime Minister also witnessed the signing ceremony of several bilateral memoranda of understanding, namely: First: a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Canada in the field of energy, exchanged on the Saudi side by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, and on the Canadian side by Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.

Second: a memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Canada regarding the establishment of the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council, which will be a platform for implementing the contents of the joint work document between the two countries that represents a roadmap for the next phase of Saudi-Canadian relations, exchanged on the Saudi side by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and on the Canadian side by Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. Third: a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Communications of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Industry of Canada regarding investment in artificial intelligence and skills development, exchanged on the Saudi side by the head of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, and on the Canadian side by Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.
