Public Investment Fund Assets Rise to SAR 231.7 Billion (+20%) by End of Q1 2026
The assets of public investment funds in the Kingdom rose to SAR 231.7 billion by the end of Q1 2026, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2025 when they stood at about SAR 193 billion.
According to data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), the rise in investment fund assets came after an increase in local fund assets, which represent 83% of total assets, by about 17% to reach approximately SAR 192.1 billion, while foreign fund assets, representing 17% of the total, rose by 35% to reach about SAR 39.6 billion.
Local and foreign investment fund assets include shares, bonds, cash instruments, other assets, and real estate investments.
Public investment funds are divided into open-ended and closed-end funds. The total assets of open-ended funds amounted to about SAR 199.1 billion, accounting for 86% of total fund assets, with 337 funds, while the assets of closed-end investment funds reached about SAR 32.6 billion, with 26 funds.
The total number of operating public investment funds by the end of Q1 of the current year reached 363 funds, compared to 356 funds in the previous quarter.
According to the data, the number of subscribers to investment funds during the same period reached about 1.59 million subscribers.
