With a 20% Increase, Saudi Public Investment Fund Assets Reach 231.7 Billion Riyals
Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) data revealed that assets of public investment funds in Saudi Arabia rose to 231.7 billion riyals by the end of the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2025, when they amounted to about 193 billion riyals.
According to the data, the rise in investment fund assets during the period came after an increase in local fund assets, which represent 83% of total assets, by about 17% to reach 192.1 billion riyals, while foreign fund assets, representing 17% of the total, rose by 35% to 39.6 billion riyals.
According to the data, the number of subscribers to investment funds during the same period reached about 1.59 million subscribers.
Fund Distribution
Public investment funds are divided into open-ended and closed-ended funds. The total assets of open-ended funds amounted to about 199.1 billion riyals, constituting 86% of total fund assets, with 337 funds, while the value of closed-ended investment fund assets reached about 32.6 billion riyals, with 26 funds.
The total number of operating public investment funds by the end of the first quarter of this year reached 363 funds, compared to 356 funds in the previous quarter.
The assets of local and foreign investment funds include stocks, bonds, cash instruments, other assets, and real estate investments.
