The General Authority for Food Security has completed the procedures for awarding the fourth batch of imported wheat for this year (2026) with a quantity of (661,000) tons to be supplied from sources (European Union, North and South America, Australia, and the Black Sea).

His Excellency the CEO of the Authority, Engineer Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Fares, stated in a statement today that contracting for this batch comes within the framework of strengthening the strategic stock of wheat and maintaining it at safe levels and meeting all the needs of milling companies.

He added that the branches of the National Company for Grain Supplies (SABLE) will receive the contracted quantities for the fourth batch, scheduled to arrive during the period (September - October 2026) via (11) ships, distributed as (4) ships to Jeddah Islamic Port with a quantity of (244) thousand tons, (6) ships to Yanbu Commercial Port with a quantity of (362) thousand tons, and (1) ship to Jazan Port with a quantity of (55) thousand tons. Fourteen (14) qualified international companies specialized in grain trading competed for the required quantity, and the award was made to (6) companies whose offers were the lowest price and compliant with specifications.
