The Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning today launched the beta version of 'INSAIGHTS', a generative AI tool, on the Saudi Data Platform, enabling users to transform questions into instant insights and analyses that support decision-making based on reliable data.
The tool is based on more than 7,500 indicators on the Saudi Data Platform, the unified reference for economic and social data in Saudi Arabia. It also enables decision-makers, researchers, analysts, and the public to explore key economic and social data.
This launch aligns with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030 and supports the targets of the National Transformation Program, enhancing the transparency of the Saudi economy and supporting Saudi Arabia's ambition for global leadership in data-driven innovation and excellence in artificial intelligence, with plans to continue developing and enhancing its capabilities in the coming months.
This reflects the ministry's ongoing efforts to develop the Saudi Data Platform and its commitment to employing emerging technologies to improve the user experience across its digital ecosystem. The ministry invites beneficiaries and all interested parties to explore the tool and benefit from its features.
Riyadh Leads Gulf Data Center Race
A report by BMI, a Fitch Solutions company, indicates that Saudi Arabia is poised to strengthen its position as the largest market for AI-oriented data centers in the Gulf region by 2030, with the capital becoming the largest cluster of hyper-dense computing in the country, supported by sovereign capital, data localization requirements, and relatively abundant energy compared to global markets experiencing grid and land bottlenecks.
According to the report, which was cited by Asharq Business in June, Saudi Arabia had 60 data centers as of the second quarter of 2026, with a direct operational capacity of 465.9 MW, a capacity under construction of 610.1 MW, and planned capacities reaching 3.4 GW. Riyadh alone accounts for 1.5 GW of capacities under construction or planning, making it the effective center of gravity in the Saudi market.
