Qatar Stock Exchange index falls at start of trading

Doha, July 09 (QNA) - The Qatar Stock Exchange index fell by 0.76 percent at the start of trading today, losing 76.87 points from the previous close, and dropping to the 10,099 level under pressure from all sectors. Qatar Stock Exchange data showed negative performance in the insurance sector by 0.27 percent, consumer goods and services sector by 0.41 percent, banks and financial services sector by 0.72 percent, telecommunications sector by 0.74 percent, real estate sector by 0.78 percent, industrials sector by 0.86 percent, and transport sector by 1.07 percent. As of 10:00 am, trading volume on the Qatar Stock Exchange reached 45.713 million riyals, distributed over 22.497 million shares, with 2,614 transactions executed.
