When God created man, He did not make him a duplicate of others, but rather distributed abilities and granted each individual a share that distinguishes them from others. Among people, some possess analytical minds, others excel in leadership, some are distinguished by artistic sense, innovation ability, quick learning, or problem-solving talent, so that these differences complement each other and enrich society.

These abilities take multiple forms; some are apparent, based on knowledge, specialization, and experience, requiring mental or physical effort to acquire and master. Others are known as soft skills, which are not skills measured by certificates or reduced to a resume, but rather traits that emanate from within a person and are reflected in their speech style, manner of dealing, ability to listen, communicate, persuade, lead, social intelligence, emotional intelligence, and handling various situations. Perhaps these skills are the true essence of a person; they are the currency that distinguishes one person from another, despite similar qualifications and experiences. How many people possess the same knowledge, but their impact on others differs because the difference was not in what they carried of knowledge, but in what they carried of qualities, values, and skills.
Perhaps what most cemented this conviction in me is what I see through my work and interaction with many distinguished individuals. Often I encounter people who possess remarkable scientific or artistic abilities and have the talent to excel, yet they still need to develop some soft skills, such as effective communication, persuasion, leadership, and the ability to present ideas and influence others. Conversely, we find people whose artistic or cognitive abilities may be more modest, but they have achieved remarkable success because they have effectively utilized their skills in dealing with others, building relationships, and seizing opportunities.
The intent is not to compare hard skills and soft skills, as each has its value and impact. Rather, the truth is that one complements the other; knowledge gives a person competence, while soft skills give them the ability to convey that competence and turn it into an impact that others can feel.
Hence the importance of each of us discovering our strengths and working to refine and develop them, not being satisfied with the knowledge or talent we possess, but striving to build a well-rounded personality. Many of us do not realize that these skills may be the reason for getting an opportunity, leading a project, embarking on a new experience, or even winning a job. They are skills that are read in one's personality and leave an impression that makes a difference.
In the university environment in particular, these skills seem even more important; the university is not only a place to acquire academic knowledge, but also the environment where personality is shaped, skills are refined, and self-confidence is built. Therefore, student participation in activities, working in teams, engaging in dialogue, and taking responsibility are all experiences that create a more mature personality ready for the job market.
Perhaps the most beautiful thing about soft skills is that they are not rigid traits one is born with and remain as they are, but rather skills that can be learned, improved, and practiced. During holiday days, a precious opportunity arises to develop this essence. It is wise to invest part of our time in attending specialized courses, undergoing new experiences that reveal aspects of ourselves we did not know, and participating in volunteer work and community initiatives. Every experience we go through, every responsibility we take on, and every situation we learn from contributes to refining our personalities and making these skills more present and influential.
When what God has given us combines with what we create with our own hands, a personality that leaves an impact is formed, and the essence that is measured not only by what we know but by the impact we make in the lives of others emerges.@syalaboud
