The embassies of Canada, Mexico, and the United States in Saudi Arabia expressed their appreciation to Saudi fans for sharing in the atmosphere of the World Cup, as the three host nations celebrated this year’s final match between Spain and Argentina.

Officials from the three embassies praised football’s unique ability to unite peoples, build friendships, and enhance cross-cultural and cross-community communication across borders.

They said: "As Saudi Arabia looks forward to hosting the world in 2034, our nations celebrate the values that give international sports their true meaning, foremost among them friendship, inclusivity, and mutual respect, along with the belief in football's power to bring nations and peoples closer together."

The three embassies commended the participation of Saudi fans, who traveled to North America, cheered on their national team, watched matches with family and friends, and took part in football and cultural activities hosted by the Kingdom.

The embassies of the three nations organizing the 2026 World Cup said that the tournament represents a global gathering that allows countries to introduce their cultures, welcome visitors, and create shared experiences and memories that endure for years.

The three diplomatic missions praised the deep-rooted status of football and the widespread passion for it in Saudi Arabia, and extended their congratulations to the Saudi people as they prepare to host the 2026 World Cup, as nations hosting the tournament in its current and upcoming editions.

Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup alone, which will be held in five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and Neom, across 15 modern stadiums. The infrastructure Saudi Arabia is preparing includes equipping 16 international airports and 134 training sites dedicated to the teams, relying on the official campaign slogan.

Canada: We continue to work to strengthen ties with Saudi Arabia

Jean-Philippe Linteau, Canada's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, said: "Canada is proud to welcome the world as one of the host nations of the 2026 World Cup, alongside Mexico and the United States."

He added: "The success of this tournament went beyond football, embodying what nations can achieve when they build trust and work together with a shared vision and clear goal, helping to expand opportunities and strengthen partnerships."

He stressed that these same values underpin Canada's partnerships around the world, including its partnership with Saudi Arabia, adding: "We continue to work together to strengthen economic ties, support innovation, and address shared global challenges."

Mexico: We wish Saudi Arabia success in its preparations to welcome the world

Dr. Guillermo Gutiérrez Nieto, Chargé d'Affaires of the Mexican Embassy in Saudi Arabia, said: "As the World Cup concludes, Mexico celebrates an exceptional achievement whose impact goes beyond football. Hosting the tournament alongside Canada and the United States embodied the spirit of cooperation, openness, and mutual respect that unites North American countries."

He added: "Mexico is proud of its deep-rooted traditions of hospitality and bringing peoples closer together. It was our pleasure to share this spirit with fans from around the world. We congratulate the champions, commend the performance of all participating teams, and wish Saudi Arabia all the best and success in its preparations to welcome the world in 2034."
