Saudi Cabinet Approves State Revenue System

The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, approved the State Revenue System during its session held today in Jeddah.

The Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the content of a phone call he received from U.S. President Donald Trump, during which they reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation and a number of regional and international issues, and emphasized support for everything that contributes to achieving the security and stability of the region.

The Cabinet was briefed on the outcomes of his discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, which reaffirmed the keenness to consolidate and develop bilateral relations at various levels towards a future characterized by deeper joint cooperation, supported by mutual trust, close friendship, and the goals stemming from Saudi Vision 2030 and the Canadian Growth Agenda to build a stronger and more resilient economy for both countries.

The Cabinet condemned repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, and on Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and Jordan, affirming the complete rejection of Iran's continued behavior that destabilizes the region's security and its violations of the principles of international law, the UN Charter, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Charter, and the rules of good neighborliness.

The Cabinet welcomed the outcomes of the meeting held in Riyadh between the Saudi and Iraqi sides, which included Iraq's affirmation of its commitment not to allow the use of its territory and airspace as a launch point for any actions or attacks targeting the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, and countries of the region, in addition to agreeing to continue bilateral coordination in a way that serves common interests.

The Cabinet welcomed the announcement by the United States of America to begin procedures to repeal the 'Law on Designating the Syrian Arab Republic as a State Sponsor of Terrorism,' which was enacted in 1979, reiterating Saudi Arabia's support for the positive steps taken by the Syrian government to enhance security and stability, build state institutions, and achieve the aspirations of its people.
