Oil prices rose today, with Brent crude futures increasing by (78) cents, or (1%), to reach $78.8 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose by (1.01%), equivalent to (74) cents, to reach $74.26 a barrel.

Both crude benchmarks rose by more than a dollar in after-settlement trading yesterday, Wednesday.
