Dollar at highest level in a week against most currencies

The dollar held at its highest levels this week against most other currencies at the start of Asian trading today. The dollar index, which measures the performance of the U.S. currency against a basket of six currencies, was traded at 101.18, its highest level since July 2. The dollar rose 0.1% against the Japanese yen to 162.28 yen.

The euro fell 0.1% to $1.1405, while the British pound dropped 0.1% to $1.3353. The Australian dollar held steady at $0.6926. The New Zealand dollar rose 0.1% to $0.5681.
