The dollar maintained its highest levels this week against most other currencies at the start of Asian trading today.

The dollar index, which measures the US currency against a basket of six currencies, traded at 101.18, its highest level since July 2.

The dollar rose 0.1% against the yen to 162.28 yen.

The euro fell 0.1% to 1.1405 dollars, while the British pound declined 0.1% to 1.3353 dollars.

The Australian dollar remained stable at 0.6926 dollars. The New Zealand dollar rose 0.1% to 0.5681 US dollars.
