Gold prices rose today to their highest level in nearly two weeks, supported by technical buying, as investors await the US Federal Reserve meeting next week for clues on interest rate expectations.

Spot gold rose 0.9% to $4,113.73 per ounce, after hitting its highest level since July 10. US gold futures for August delivery jumped 1.1% to $4,119.1.

Among other precious metals, spot silver rose 1.8% to $59.82 per ounce, platinum gained 1.6% to $1,655.61, and palladium increased 1.6% to $1,302.25.
