The Gulf Interconnection Authority participated the day before yesterday in the 67th meeting of the Advisory and Regulatory Committee on Power Interconnection of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, with the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of the Gulf Interconnection Authority, Eng. Ahmed Al-Ibrahim, and representatives of the GCC states and the General Secretariat of the GCC represented by the Human and Environment Affairs Sector - Energy Department, in Kuwait.

The meeting reviewed a number of topics, most notably the performance and activities report of the Gulf Interconnection Authority, and the support provided by the power interconnection system to the electrical grids of the GCC states, which contributed to enhancing the reliability and stability of the Gulf electrical system. Additionally, the meeting reviewed the most prominent operational events and measures taken to ensure service continuity, and was briefed on the latest developments of Gulf Interconnection Network expansion projects and related updates. At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the Gulf interconnection system and enhancing its operational readiness and reliability to support the continuity of energy security for the GCC states.
