Japanese stock indices rose in morning trading on Friday on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, supported by a rise in shares of companies related to artificial intelligence, while the bond market and the Japanese currency also posted gains against the backdrop of expectations of a reorientation of investment strategy for massive pension funds in Japan.
The Nikkei 225 stock index rose by 2% to reach 69,121.02 points, and the broader Topix index advanced by 0.76% to reach 4,050.82 points.
