Washington, June 25 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump affirmed on Thursday that the United States is preparing for an unprecedented economic boom, praising his administration's policies in this area.

Trump added during a speech at an event near the White House as part of the events commemorating the 250th anniversary of US independence: "No country has ever been in the position we are in now."

He stated that "four long years of the previous administration, which was a complete disaster, they got less than a trillion dollars in new investments in our country. That is less than a trillion in four years, and in my first 11 months, we secured commitments for new investments worth $19.1 trillion from all over the world, and they are building factories and facilities, building everything across our country."

He continued that "more Americans are working today than at any time in our country's history," referring to his signing a year ago of "the largest tax cuts in American history."

Trump mentioned, "We are setting records in the automotive industry. Our country is strong again, our country is rich again, and our country is safe again."

The US president affirmed that his administration is working to lower energy prices after successive waves of increases in recent months due to the repercussions of the conflict in the Middle East.

Trump's remarks come as his administration continues to focus on tax cuts and expanding domestic energy production as two main pillars of his economic program, alongside encouraging the return of manufacturing and foreign investment to the United States. (End) A S J / H S S
