Liverpool FC has intensified its campaign against ticket touting, issuing 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions as part of a joint operation with Merseyside Police targeting illegal ticket trafficking and money laundering networks, according to Inside World Football.

Assets worth £1.2 million seized

The operation resulted in the seizure of assets valued at over £1.2 million, suspected to be linked to proceeds from illegal ticket sales.

The campaign is part of the club's efforts to combat ticket resale outside official channels, both online and around Anfield stadium.

Inspector Nick Saville said the collaboration between Merseyside Police and Liverpool FC aims to protect genuine fans from falling victim to the black market, stressing that authorities will continue to take action against those involved in these practices.

700,000 ticket analyses

Club data reveals the scale of the phenomenon: Liverpool analyzed approximately 700,000 ticket registrations in the past season, resulting in the banning or cancellation of 67,663 suspicious accounts, while another 121,379 accounts remain under investigation.

The club also canceled 3,847 tickets due to suspicious activity, before re-offering them for sale via official channels, while the average number of tickets resold on matchday was around 300 per fixture at Anfield.
