Oil at highest level in 6 weeks

Oil prices rose more than 1.5% today to reach their highest level in more than six weeks.

Brent crude futures rose $1.93, or two percent, to $96, the highest level since June 8. Brent crude increased by more than three dollars to $94.07 at settlement in the previous session.

The price of US West Texas Intermediate crude rose $1.44, or 1.7%, to $88.27 after rising about three percent on Wednesday.
