Oil prices rose slightly in early trading on Wednesday amid growing fears of increasing supply disruptions after US forces announced they had begun launching raids on Iranian military targets for the eleventh consecutive night, while Kuwait reported being hit by Iranian drone attacks.

Brent crude futures rose 0.55 percent, or 50 cents, to $91.51, while US West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.36 percent, or 30 cents, to $84.64 in thin trading.

This comes after oil prices reached a five-week high at settlement on Tuesday, after US forces struck targets in southern and western Iran, while Tehran launched attacks on US facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.

The US military announced that it began its latest raids on Iran late Tuesday US time, or early Wednesday Iran time. The US attacks came shortly after the Kuwaiti military announced that its air defenses intercepted Iranian drones today.
