The Red Sea Film Foundation announced the selection of 11 supported films and projects to participate in the 83rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival, which takes place from September 2 to 12, 2026.

Within the official selection, three films supported by the foundation are participating: 'Dialogue with the Sea' by director Moayad Alian, and 'Guria' by director Levan Koguashvili, selected for the Venezia Spotlight section, while 'House of the Wind' (La Maison du Vent) by director August Bernard Kuimo Yangho was selected for the Orizzonti competition.

The foundation also has a presence at the Venice Production Bridge, the festival's industry platform, with eight supported projects selected across two of its specialized programs, bringing the total number of Red Sea Film Foundation-supported films and projects announced for the Venice International Film Festival and Venice Production Bridge to 11 so far.

Projects at the Venice Gap-Financing Market

Three projects supported by the Red Sea Film Foundation were selected for the Venice Gap-Financing Market: 'Don't Let the Sun Go Up On Me' by director Asma Al-Mudir, 'Holiday' by director Wissam Sharaf, and 'Wolfmother' by director Ismail Al-Iraqi, all of which received support from the Red Sea Fund and the Red Sea Market.

These projects are among 38 fiction and documentary projects selected for the 2026 Venice Gap-Financing Market.

Five Films at Final Cut in Venice

In the Final Cut in Venice program, which presents a selection of works-in-progress to producers, buyers, distributors, post-production companies, and festival programmers, with the aim of helping filmmakers complete post-production and reach the international film market, five out of the six selected films are supported by the Red Sea Film Foundation.

The supported films include: 'A Quarter to Thursday' by director Sofia Jama, supported by the Red Sea Market and Red Sea Labs; 'Eldorado, The Taste of the South' by director Alaa Eddine Aljem; 'Mehal Sefari' by director Abraham Gizahon; 'Occupational Hazards' by director Basil Ghandour; and 'Plague' by director Youssef Al-Shabbi, all supported by the Red Sea Fund except the first film, which is supported by the Red Sea Market and Red Sea Labs.

These films are among six works-in-progress officially selected for the 14th edition of Final Cut in Venice.

These selections reflect the Red Sea Film Foundation's ongoing commitment to supporting distinctive cinematic voices across various stages of their creative and professional journeys. Through the Red Sea Fund, Red Sea Market, and Red Sea Labs, the foundation supports filmmakers and projects through development, financing, production, and post-production, all the way to industry markets and international showcase platforms.
