5 Saudi-Supported Films in Venice Film Festival's 'Final Cut' Program
The Red Sea Film Foundation made a notable presence at the 14th edition of the 'Final Cut' program of the Venice Film Festival, after five films that received support were selected to participate in the program dedicated to supporting film projects from the Middle East and Africa.
The program allows projects to be showcased to producers and distributors.
The selected films include 'From Quarter to Thursday,' which received support from the Red Sea Souk and Red Sea Labs, and four films supported by the Red Sea Fund: 'El Dorado: Taste of the South,' 'Mihal Safari,' 'Occupation and Situation,' and 'Balaa.'
The 'Final Cut' program is one of the specialized initiatives supporting films still in production, allowing filmmakers to present their projects to producers and distributors in the film industry worldwide, thereby helping to complete post-production stages and enhance opportunities for international distribution and screening.
The program is part of the 'Venice Production Bridge' initiative of the Venice Film Festival, which focuses on supporting talent and promising film projects from the region, and providing pathways to connect with international partners in the film industry.
The selection of these films reflects the ongoing impact of the Red Sea Film Foundation's programs in supporting creators and empowering Arab and African film projects, and enhancing their presence at major international film festivals and platforms.
