Two giant Chinese tankers carrying 4 million barrels of Saudi oil are heading towards the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to exit the Red Sea on Thursday, according to Reuters citing shipping data.

The ship 'ENCELIA,' owned by a Saudi company, was targeted while sailing in the Red Sea, resulting in a fire in the bow of the ship, according to a source at the General Transport Authority, who confirmed the safety of all crew members.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry had strongly condemned what the so-called military spokesman for the armed Houthi group said about accusing the Kingdom of besieging the Yemeni people and imposing a maritime navigation ban on the Kingdom.

Two giant tankers

Data from the London Stock Exchange Group showed that the tanker 'Xin Long Yang,' flying the Singapore flag, resumed its southward journey late Wednesday evening after turning back and stopping temporarily in the middle of the Red Sea on Tuesday.

The data also indicated that the tanker is sailing off the coast of Yemen heading to the port of 'Qinzhou' in southern China.

It is followed by the giant oil tanker 'Cozneo Lake,' flying the Chinese flag, according to the data, which indicates it will discharge its cargo at the port of 'Huizhou' in Guangdong province in southern China.

The data showed that both tankers indicated via their Automatic Identification System transmitters that they had Chinese crews on board.

The tankers, which loaded crude oil from the port of Yanbu in Saudi Arabia earlier this week, are chartered by Unipec, the trading arm of Sinopec, Asia's largest refiner.

'COSCO Shipping,' which operates the tankers, and 'Sinopec' have not yet responded to requests for comment.

Data from the London Stock Exchange Group showed that at least two other giant tankers chartered by Unipec are scheduled to enter the Red Sea and load Saudi crude from Yanbu later this month, according to Reuters.

Data from the London Stock Exchange Group and Kepler showed that shipping traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait declined due to the crisis in the Middle East, while traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remained weak on Wednesday.

According to London Stock Exchange Group data, 27 ships, including 5 oil tankers and one LPG tanker, crossed the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Wednesday, down from 38 ships the previous day.

Data from 'Vortexa' indicated a giant oil tanker exited Bab el-Mandeb on Wednesday after turning off its transmitters.

The tanker 'Rotterdam Energy,' loaded with 2 million barrels of Upper Zakum crude from the UAE, appeared off the coast of Fujairah.

Data from 'Kepler' indicated that 3 ships carrying commodities crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, down from 4 ships the previous day and 18 ships on Wednesday of last week.

Data from 'Kepler' also showed that two ships entered the Strait of Hormuz from the Gulf of Oman: a tanker carrying dirty petroleum products sailing through Iranian waters, and a dry bulk carrier sailing with its tracking signal turned off.

According to London Stock Exchange Group data, the number of tankers loaded with cargo in the Gulf as of July 20 reached 253.

Among these tankers, 102 are oil tankers, 64 are LNG tankers, and 66 are LPG tankers.
