SABIC partners with Bahri to send largest chemicals shipment to South Asia

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) announced the dispatch of its largest chemicals shipment to customers in South Asia, via the liquid chemicals tanker NCC Fajr, in collaboration with the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia – Bahri. SABIC said on platform X that the shipment comes as an extension of its commitment to meeting customer needs and enhancing its presence in global markets, while the company did not disclose the shipment volume or the types of chemical products transported, nor did it specify the target countries in South Asia. It noted that the NCC Fajr tanker is the largest liquid chemicals tanker in the world, indicating that the execution of the shipment reflects the efficiency of the national logistics system and the integration of efforts between major Saudi companies, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the Kingdom's exports and consolidating its position as a global center for industry and logistics services. For its part, Bahri said that this achievement reflects the strength of national capabilities and partnerships capable of creating a sustainable impact, and enhances its role in enabling global trade and connecting Saudi industry to international markets efficiently and reliably. According to tanker fleet data published on Bahri's website, the deadweight tonnage of the NCC Fajr is about 81,340 tons, with a length of about 227.9 meters and a width of 37 meters.
