Saudia Group signed a strategic agreement with Boeing to supply Saudia Cargo with four Boeing 777 freighter aircraft, designated to serve key destinations across four continents, aiming to support the aviation program targets and Saudi Vision 2030, and solidify the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub.
Saudia Group and Boeing signed a strategic agreement to enhance the Saudia Cargo fleet with four Boeing 777 freighter aircraft, with the first delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. This supports the aviation program targets and Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting East and West.
The agreement was signed in Jeddah, in the presence of the Director General of Saudia Group, Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar. It was signed by the Assistant Director General for Fleet Management, Saleh Eid; the CEO of Saudia Cargo, Eng. Loay Mashabi; and the President of Boeing in Saudi Arabia, Asaad Al-Jumoi.
The four aircraft will be dedicated to serving key destinations across Saudia Cargo's air freight network spanning four continents, enhancing its ability to meet growing demand for cargo services between the Kingdom and major global trade and industrial centers.
Eng. Al-Omar confirmed that the agreement represents a pivotal step in the Group's journey toward achieving growth targets and enhancing operational efficiency, noting that the new aircraft will enable Saudia Cargo to keep pace with the rapid growth in global trade and supply chains, and boost national exports and the Kingdom's competitiveness.
For his part, Omar Arekat, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Middle East at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, stated that the choice of the Boeing 777 freighter underscores its exceptional performance and operational flexibility, noting that the agreement strengthens a long-standing partnership with Saudia Group that spans over 75 years.
It is worth noting that Saudia Cargo transported over 1.15 million tons of shipments through its global network during 2024 and 2025, recording continuous growth in revenues, national exports, and cross-border e-commerce, while maintaining operational performance levels exceeding 90% in on-time flight departures.
