Statistics: Inflation in the Kingdom stabilizes at 1.8% during June
Data from the General Authority for Statistics showed on Wednesday that the annual inflation rate remained at 1.8% during June 2026, compared to the same month of the previous year.
The authority said in an official statement that the stability of inflation was supported by a continued slowdown in the increase in prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, as its growth rate fell to its lowest level since October 2022.
According to the statement of the General Authority for Statistics, the Consumer Price Index in June 2026, on a monthly basis, recorded a relative increase of 0.2% compared to May 2026, as prices of the transport section rose by 0.4%. Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased by 0.1%, and the food and beverages section rose by 0.7%.
The General Authority for Statistics adopted a new methodology for calculating the consumer price index, with the aim of improving data quality in line with international best practices, through expanding geographical coverage and consumer basket items, and adopting new data sources for periodic price collection. The authority began publishing consumer price index data according to the updated methodology as of August 2025.
